The Promise Ring - Size of Your Life
For the past few months Toby, Ryan W., Ryan B., Abbey, Lisa, and me have closed at the Owlery on Friday / Saturday nights. Most every night, when it is time to close, Toby turns off the public radio station and turns on the Promise Ring. Very Emergency and Nothing Feels Good became our primary closing albums, but Wood/Water made a few appearances, too. Though this song is not one of our main closing jams, it has been in my head lately.
The Owlery closes December 22nd and will re-open in a new location on the square in downtown Bloomington in March-ish. When I miss things about the old spot, it will be things like this; how the specific poetics of a space and people in a moment of time cannot be re-done. I love it all.
