MONSTER HOUSE PRESS invites you to MALT WHITMAN: OHIO’S LITERATURE, HOMEBREW, & CAMPING FESTIVAL!
Over the course of the weekend, attendees will have a chance to see and hear an eclectic and talented group of contemporary writers read poetry, prose, short stories and more at Lake Hope State Park. A handful of Ohioans and regional friends will make their best efforts on some homebrew to swap and share. Attendees are welcome to bring their own to trade and share as well.
The readings at Malt Whitman will take place on and around the grounds of Lake Hope State Park with designated areas and times marked on a map that will be available online prior to the event and at the event. The hope is to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible! Writing too. And also beer. We will gather for the love of independent literature and the ways it unfurls our lives and tangles them together.
In the case of inclement weather, we will host the readings inside of a rented cottage near the park. Saturday breakfast and dinner as well as Sunday breakfast and coffee will be provided. Please bring snacks and items that keep well to sustain and share.
Please note: alcohol is allowed only at camp sites and the official Malt Whitman Cottage on Lake Hope State Park grounds. Please respect the park rules!
This is our first attempt at having this gathering. We would love to have you!
