The week of July 18th-July 22nd, I had the wonderful opportunity to lead a songwriting workshop with a group of kids at St. Joseph Montessori School’s Summer Learning Camp.  The kids are Lower Elementary aged (6-10? 11?) and are incredibly bright.  This is the song we wrote together.  Ryan Starinsky graciously recorded it.  The kids wrote the words and I wrote the music.  We all sang together.  Title and lyrics to follow:

Moon Fell Down

The moon fell down, down down, on the ground.
The sun goes up, up up, and burns out.
The tree fell down, down down, on the ground.
The crow flew up, up up, and looked around.
