The Owlery, the vegetarian restaurant I work at, will re-open at its new location in downtown Bloomington, Indiana at 118 W. 6th St. this Friday, April 20th, 2012.

Since mid-January, a group of various people, including myself, have converted the new space to its current condition.

Come eat food!

The Promise Ring - Size of Your Life

For the past few months Toby, Ryan W., Ryan B., Abbey, Lisa, and me have closed at the Owlery on Friday / Saturday nights. Most every night, when it is time to close, Toby turns off the public radio station and turns on the Promise Ring. Very Emergency and Nothing Feels Good became our primary closing albums, butWood/Water made a few appearances, too. Though this song is not one of our main closing jams, it has been in my head lately.

The Owlery closes December 22nd and will re-open in a new location on the square in downtown Bloomington in March-ish. When I miss things about the old spot, it will be things like this; how the specific poetics of a space and people in a moment of time cannot be re-done. I love it all.

Found this book behind Salvo tonight. Sat on my bed with Kari, Jared, Kim & Hugo for a few hours. Listened to Teenage Moods and Little Wings tapes. Felt sad feelings / unbelieving feelings / “how could this be the same world as that” with regards to Troy Davis’ passing. Worked for the first time at the Owlery. Ate carrot bisque and tried to understand what happens in moments. Drank water, coffee, beer. Brushed an eyelash off of Jared’s face. Hugo wearing hats and glasses. Howling along with him.
